The First Wagons West (working title)
My great, great grandmother published a book telling of the family’s leaving Vermont in 1799 to go to the “far West” of Ohio. She describes the covered wagons, dug out canoes and visits to Indian settlements. She also, relates her father’s experiences in the Revolutionary War. For example, he saves the life of a Hessian soldier and later in Ohio meets the soldier’s wife and sons. I am finishing a manuscript of a fictional children’s book based on her experiences. A footnote to this: a distant cousin has put her memories on the internet, a descendant of the Hessian soldier saw it, and now I am e-mailing a descendent of the man whose life my great, great, great grandfather saved.
I Was Bad

Sun to Tea (working title)
